Whenever I log in, it redirects to a blank page, so I have to retype "youn00b.com" in the address bar. Have it redirect to the homepage or something. Other than that, I'm really enjoying the usability of this site. A refreshing change from RE. Thanks man! |

If you can, do a bug report on it with the same browser you normally use so I can get the details of it and see why that's happening. I'll look into the code now and see if I can find anything suspect in doing that. |

 Dodge Site Admin 'Open foot, insert mouth' Level 19 Posts: 1,914 Submissions: 51 | (the few minor) Things I would do differently at YouN00b.com 1- Commenting on a video causes the page to reload, which replays the video. I would make it just add the new comment at the bottom without reloading the whole page. 2- When viewing a member's submissions page there's no order other than (I think) upload date. I would list them by category first, then by upload date. 3- After viewing a thread that is actively on my notification list, it should be reset. In other words, the counter should display one less unread notification. 4- After editing a post it redirects to the first page of the thread. I would make it stay at your edited post. 5- I would randomly change that Toasty guy's avatar to some sort of Powerpuff girl porn. I think he'd enjoy that. 6- I would add something to the large blank white area at the top of the main home page. Maybe some large, odd-font, shadowed text saying 'Hilarity Driven Insanity', or something similar. Just something to fill the spot. Like this. Or this. Or this. Or this. That's about it.... Other than that, I feel very comfortable here. 'Tis a smooth site. |

That blank spot -- that only shows up if you're using AdBlock, or if you have an adfree account, otherwise an ad is shown there. I'll have to steal one of those logos from you for the ad-less accounts, but I can't do anything for adblockers (as writing code to detect people blocking the ads, and then make their experience better, that just doesn't make sense...) Thanks though, I'll have to spend some time on those here and there! |

I'm using the same browser as you, but not the same platform -- but it shouldn't matter. I'm not able to reproduce the issue you're having, but I added a few error checks in there for good measure. I do have an idea of what it may be, but since I can't make the error happen, I'm SOL when it comes to testing it. If you get some weird message when trying to login, please copy it and send it to me so I can look further as time permits. As for other suggestions -- I will try to get to them soon, things have been rather hectic, but I also haven't forgotten about YN, just been pulled away from it a bit. |
