These are starting to become the de-facto standard of the internet, and the have excellent color retention. GIFs and Animated GIFS are not recommended at this point. The "YouN00b" overlay tends to corrupt animated images, and it doesn't overlay right onto GIF images. Also, adding the color palette changes what is called "Indexed Colors", which is what GIF images are based on. This will usually degrade the coloring. JPGs usually work, but there is a slight issue with those images. That, and besides images that aren't directly designed for JPEG format usually look pretty distorted. Videos Currently, we only support Videos posted on YouTube. To post a video from youtube, copy the "v=" number off of the URL to the video. For example: http://www.youtube.com/?v=a13b94dc You would put this: a13b94dc In the video area. Also, in the future, I'll be supporting videos from Break and MySpace. If you have a video that doesn't work, have an admin or mod delete it for you and repost an updated version of it. This will keep content fresh, and will allow you to gain more points. Stories Too the point and interesting. BBCode is supported. Click the Help link at the bottom of every page to learn more about BBCode. How-To This doesn't have to be just pranks, just "n00bish" events. Post how to fix a computer, how to clean a VCR, whatever you know how to do that you think might be useful to other people, post 'em in there! Tools Similar to the Software and Applications forum, these ones are rate-able. Try to keep down redundancies between the Tools forum and the Tools Submissions. I've modified the rating system so it's impossible for a CRSF vote to occur, so the system is a little more secure now. Any other tips for other members, post 'em here. |
