Hello, this is my first post in some time.Member Added Image

I drifted away from this site as shit was turbulent for a few months and nothing was consistant.

In my absense I have since been kicked out of college (still got a qualification lol), gained a full bike license and am currently rocking a GPX 250R and on the verge of moving out of my dads and into a mates flat.

I have no idea if I'll start posting regularly again but I finally aqquired some UE photos from both my visits to Wales and have over a thousand UE pictures i'm mulling over whether or not to upload, the main put off being the folder is over a gigabyte in size.

With the new college year my college decided to change the way assignments and teaching in class was done to a particular way that literally drove me insane (I lost my shit and headbutted the wall until I got concussed badly).

They basically turned lessons into 1.5 hour lectures with little to no practical work where we sat and listened to the tutor gas on about shit I already knew (I was way ahead of the course, regret picking it) and would tell you off for getting on with the actual work that counted.

split the work up in such a way more of it was actually required and I found myself combined with part time job to pay for shit having, I shit you not about 2 hours free time a week.

I wasn't liking it and it was getting to me, eventually the aforementioned craziness happened and they refused to let me back on college grounds because I 'traumatised the rest of the group'.
I confronted a few of them outside the college about it a week later and they laughed their asses off. They apparently confronted one of the tutors and the other staff for overreacting to what happened, to which they responded rather shockingly by ignoring them and refusing to talk about it.

I got a lower qualification for the year I had already done and even now staff apparently refuse to talk about it.

tl;dr don't expect help of any kind outside of your course if you go to a British public college unless you're black/arab and have poor parents.

Welcome to American University. OBJECTIVE: only the strong (RICH/BRIGHT) survive.

Speaking of yappy tell-you-nothing teachers pontificating for purchasing power, a lot of things in the US are bloated with useless information in order to gain profit. For example, computer magazines in the US are trying so hard to sell advertising (every other page) they lose site of content. Most AMERICAN computer magazines have about 10% of actual usable non-duh-inducing information. While the British publication "PC Utilities" has about 95% content. US based magazines allude to hacking but don't tell you the nuts and bolts because YOU might be a bad person and we don't want to help you. If you're a good person (in their eyes) you will pay for whatever commercial service is available to protect you... you don't need to know the details. 2600 magazine is the only exception I've found and it's hacks are 3-5 years old.

So if anyone has any good info lemme know.

ChaosMaestro, the system is DESIGNED to make it difficult for you. Part of the "test" of college is, was and will be "did you survive to the other side". Were you able to cut through the red tape, were you able to fill out the correct papers in the correct way by the correct time with you phallic-headed instructor glowering over you like some Dr. Seuss on a bad acid trip. Could you present yourself as mature, attentive and able to work whilst sitting bored in your chair sneakily drawing motion picture cartoons on the corners of your books.

Good luck, mate! I feel bad for you. Perhaps consider changing colleges... they're not all created equal.

I was well aware of that, I just raeg at the fact that if I weren't british and/or had even a near meaningless "mental illness" I would have been waited on hand and foot and college would have been 10x easier because our political correctness obsessed government prioritises foreigners over it's own people.
I also understand what you mean with the corporate bloat, that almost summed the course up.

I may or may not go for college again, I've chosen to get the skills I wanted via the way that has worked best for me in the past, which is teach your fucking self.
