Are any of you bilingual, trilingual, learning another language, etc.? If so, what are you learning or able to speak?

Only language I know is English, some broken Spanish from two years of it in High School, and I'm learning Swedish and Japanese. Shit's hard.

I was studying Japanese for a while using Rosetta Stone but I've slipped up a bit.

I also was studying Irish Gaelic but same happened on that.
However, I tend to retain a bit more of the Gaelic for some reason, I guess it must be my Irish roots.

Same happened with me and Rosetta Stone. I mean, it's great for learning a language but it doesn't really teach it to you which makes it complicated when you get into advanced grammar concepts. And with Japanese you have to learn the Hiragana and Katakana characters to actually be literate, which just makes it more difficult when you can't do literal translations.

So I guess with some languages Rosetta Stone is good, but others it's difficult to pick up on and requires a formal teaching.

Foreign exchange students are good teachers (if they speak the language you are studying) since they can be there with you and you can see and hear the language in action with a live conversation.

I speak quite a bit of Irish (They call it Irish in Ireland, not Gaelic. Other countries call it that. Not me. I'm Irish.), and also quite a bit of the German language. The Irish because I studied it, the German because I have another family, who are Germans.

Some Mandarin Chinese, took a few lessons in Russian (but I dont remember anything except for kiosk and vodka), some Spanish, some French, fluent English, and basic HTML.
