Perhaps I'm among the first guy to ask how to get around privacy settings on Facebook to see a private profile -- except for different reasons.

The girl who I've been seeing has a really jealous friend, I'm not friends with him, and I have my privacy settings locked down like Fort Knox. However, he seems to know the statuses I post, and tries to downplay me as a person when I post things like "I love boobs" on there. Most people know me (as I'm sure most of you do) for the odd shit I say, he doesn't, so he assumes that I must only like this girl for her boobs (they're great, btw), but even she knows he's being retarded.

So, she thinks there's some sort of app to get around privacy settings, and I'm curious if any of you know what this app is called or where to get it. I have a typing speed app and that's it on my profile, and have most others blocked, so I can't imagine that an app on my profile is "bugging" it to be seen. My main goal is to find the app, and destroy it so that this raging homo can stop being an obsessive idiot and leave my ass alone.

The app is called "mutual friends".

On the reals, I don't think it exists, he's just using someone else or someone else's profile. You should narrow it down by limiting who can see what statuses.

Nah, I have it so only my friends can see them, not even friends of friends. I'm pretty sure he's not using her profile, though I should mention that so she changes her password. She's a bit open with her passwords and what not, and I've already told her to change her shit so I don't have it. Shit goes sour, I'll be the first person to redirect all of her friends to meatspin.

I may be wrong, but if one of your mutual friends posts a comment on your status, doesn't it show on that mutual friend's profile?


I need to see pics of said boobs to be sure, but I think that's how he's getting your statusises.

I have three people on there who I don't know personally, Colin, AE, and DarkestAngel. I've had tons of requests, and I usually deny them. I've also had a ton of people make fake accounts, like that would impress me that they have a ton of mutual friends, but I won't add them. A ton of people know me from high school, but I don't know many of them, so I think the fake profile thing is out the window.

As for my privacy settings about the friends of friends:

Dodge -- if you added me, I'd accept, but I'd have to know what your name is/see a photo first, and now that I said that, I'm sure a few fake profiles for Dodge will be made to test if I really do deny almost everybody.

I agree... Unless he doesn't find interest in that particular status...

One other possibility is if he is able to log into her account. How is she about her own security? Does she leave her account logged in on other computers? Perhaps he got/guessed her password. Try talking her into changing it... Or, better yet, try to trap him.

If he's really the "jealous type" as you said, it could be that he's stalkerish enough to have a Facebook friend of yours telling him all of your updates and such. Happened to my roommate when he broke up with his girlfriend; he blocked her on FB and AIM and she went all psycho bitch and recruited all her friends to keep her updated on his statuses, locations, etc. It was really creepy.

Well, we have one mutual friend, who is her. I know she isn't relaying it, and she told me that she suspects he was in her e-mail a few times already, so I got her to change everything, so that should be a good start.

If he is monitoring my statuses, then whatever, I'll just rape his face with a screwdriver or something next time he acts like an idiot.

I don't see why it's really something to truly fret over. He may take a post of yours wrong and try to make you look like an ass, but when you explain it or your friends understood it he'll be looking like an ass himself. Also, like you said, if she knows he's being retarded I don't see a problem.
