 Pyro451 Member 'ToO hARdcoRe foR AA' Level 29 Posts: 1,885 Submissions: 50  | A friend of mine, whom I'v been friends with since we were two years old, and whom is also a really stubborn dumbass, is now in a juvenille lock-in drug rehab program for 4 months because he was arrested like 5 times, 3 on probation, for possesion and use of marijuana. He doesnt want anyone to know that he is in there, and everyone has assumed that he is just sick with the cold. Now, that is not going to hold up for long and I will have to make something up. Plus, other than me just being his friend, im now being pulled into this. Two days ago, he was in the car on the way to school (we carpool) and tapped me on his shoulder. On his knee was 3 white, oblong-shaped pills. He took two and put the other in his pocket. Since his brother and sister were in the front of the car, I had to text him to communicate. Little did i know that his mom had his phone, and was monitoring his incoming texts. This is exactly what I sent: "Your insane. Where do you even get those?". His mom alerted my mom today that I texted him that I wanted to buy Xanax from him. Now my parents are searching my texts and searching my room, because they think I'm a druggie (well, yeah, I was, but I quit pretty much everything a few months ago except for alcohol and tea). So, I'm probably going to visit him sometime in the next week. That is going to be awkward, because we had a falling out after i quit drugs and we really had nothing to do or talk about, and eventually we just stopped hanging out. This kid is about a year younger to me, 15. I'm really worried about him and what hes going thru. I was close to organizing an intervention for him before this, so it cant be all bad. I'm a little sad right now, how about cheering me up? |

If he could look into the future and see how his brain was struggling to function, what his skin and heart looked like and how empty his wallet was, he'd be thankful to be in rehab. |

His mom pretty much outright lied to me about that. If your counting at home, thats twice shes done that in the last two days. Apparently, she just wanted us to stop hanging out, not taking into account that we live next door to each other, go to the same school, and, most importantly, carpool together. So, you can imagine the surprise I had when I got in his brother's car to see him sitting there, swallowing more Xanax, already high as hell. I feel bad for that kid, although he did say to me that he had quit smoking pot, saying that it fucked up his life, and that all he was doing from now on is Xanax, and only until he goes to jail. |

I got a text late last night from his mom (she had his phone) that simply said, "yes" after i texted him "Dude, what happened? Is everyone alright?" about 4 hours earlier. I really hope thats true. I talked to a few of his friends/old smoking buddies that I have personally smoked with many times, and they all said that they all quit doing drugs after freshman year and that he needs to get his shit together before he dies or gets jailed for more than he already has. |

So, just have to say this first, he WAS going to go to rehab, but they didnt have a bed for him yet, so his parents didnt tell him anyway. This is the story: Apparently, he went out with his friend (who is coincidentally my mortal enemy) and got completely fucked up. Like beyond belief. He drank an entire bottle of V2 Vodka, and 7 super-strength Xanax's. Just to tell those of you that arent druggies or pharmacists, that means 2.5 mg per pill. Normal, perscription, pills are .2 mg. The maximum recommended dose for recreational users is 2.0 mg. This kid took 17.5 mg. So, his friend carries him home on his shoulders, and dumps him on the porch. He had 2 large holes in his scalp, and gravel still in his open wound. He had apparently fell. Since the paramedics had no idea if the unconsciousness came before the fall, or he was unconscious because of head trauma, they had to treat it like a head trauma case. So, after that, they put him in a program called the Baker program. It basically means if they think your a danger to yourself or others, they put you in a psychiatric hospital for three days and release you if they think you are relatively mentally healthy. Today, he got out of the mental hospital and went straight to the rehab facility. They didnt even stop at home before that. He will be in there for four months, and will be attending school there. Its a pretty nice facility, and he will be able to get some help, completely drug free. |
