"This is like the internet running out of telephone numbers and with no new numbers, you can't have more subscribers," he said. Quote NetworkWorld: Available IPv4 addresses dwindle below 10% The long-awaited depletion of the Internet's primary address space came one step closer to reality on Tuesday with the announcement that fewer than 10% of IPv4 addresses remain unallocated. The Number Resource Organization (NRO), the official representative of the five Regional Internet Registries, made the announcement. The Regional Internet Registries allocate blocks of IP addresses to ISPs and other network operators. So there's less than 10% available. But the internet is near saturation. The time taken for the remaining IPv4 addresses to be taken will be longer than than the first 90%. Or so I recon. |

I guess I don't want to know that there was a rainbow out on a gay wedding day, or that there was a cute bunny prancing through Europe; but I'm getting really annoyed with Y2K, 2012, Terrorism, and this sort of crap. For those of you without the technical background, IPv6 is an easy cure, and more likely than not, your system supports it. |
