 Toasty SysOp Level 40 Posts: 7,388 Submissions: 227  | Effective immediately I am requesting that all members only upload images without logos from other sites on them. Historically, this has been disregarded by the moderators, admins, and myself. The problem with logos on the images arises from the potential for legal consequences should a site wish to penalize us for redistribution of their images. I am requesting that the moderators and administrators remove images posted after this topic that contain such watermarks/emblems/logos. Thanks. |

Its hard to not rip off other people's pictures since not everyone is going to go out and try to find funny picture themselves. That would require too much effort. |

Or if it's too complicated a background to make it look like there was nothing there, then an easy crop should suffice, or you could just place a YN logo over the top of it and have 2 YN logos? |

The thing is, you get the same credit for an image submission as you do an article. Finding a funny image and posting it requires next to no effort, whereas writing a good exploration/how to takes time and effort. This does make submitting images harder, but it also makes it a little fairer to those who would rather add articles to the site. |
