MaxwellMURDER Member Level 4 Posts: 84 Submissions: 3 | Nope haha, any respected BASE jump trainer will REFUSE to even TALk to you about doing a jump unless you have at the very least 100 normal sky dives under your belt. it then takes plenty more to learn how to use a wingsuit properly that and you have to have nuts roughly the size of grapefruits. |

I'm deathly fucking afraid of heights, although I love rollercoasters and wanted to be a fighter pilot in the airforce; I know, figure that one out. Honestly, I'd rather chug a gallon of my own urine than base jump. I used to work with someone that did base jumping. Completely routine jump that she did. She wound up suffering bad head injuries. She had her Masters in Psychology, but can't remember anything that she learned. She has seizures and convulsions. She can't even drive a car (because of the seizures). Her personality completely changed from when she was in high school, and it's because of the accident. I'm an adrenaline junkie just as much as the next guy. Hell, I've skitched on the back of cars drunk off my ass on my skateboard, raced my buddies stock car around the track numerous times, and used to be in a "fight club" for fun. But you will never catch me jumping out of a plane unless the fucker is going to crash. I'm too big a pussy. |

I'm with BA, CB...and any others of you here, that think that putting yourself purposely in jeopardy of instant death - or a state of woeful life changes..(CB..that's terrible what happened to that former co-worker you mention there..  ) Anyhow..the way I see it? My dumb monkey ass shouldn't even be alive today..lol...with all that I've already done to myself. I certainly don't list these events, or tout them at all..as 'moments of pride'..lol.. oh no no no. Just that I. .well. . I've done some stupid shit in my past..and well..I guess I'm one of the few I suppose..that managed to crawl out of the proverbial 'idiot tunnel'. . to find the light of 'minimal intelligence'.. upon exiting the tunnel still breathing. I have over the years... 1. Fallen out of my drunken grandfather's car at 25 or so MPH. 2. Fallen down no LESS than 6 sets of stairs, some carpeted..others I remember more vividly..not. 3. Been knocked unconscious for at least 1 full minute or more..6 times. 4. Took what I later found out to be a substance called 'Ecstasy', although I knew it only as "MDMA"..when I was 15. Suffered heart palpitations, an ambulance was called...it was an embarrassing debacle. 5. Broke a 1982 Honda Gold Wing 750cc motorcycle completely in two, while showing off for some friends - ran out of road doing 45 MPH. All I saw was Weeds/Tree/Bright-Mutha-Fuckin-Flash-Of-Light/Some Doctor's Face..Some 5 or 6 Hours Later. 6. Overdosed on what I later found out..was UN-CUT coke. Did a whole bunch of it all by myself- all cheesy "Tony Montana"-style one Friday night in the 80s. Yep, another major embarrassing moment for me. I actually had to wake my father up..at 5:49 in the morning one Saturday..(yes, I remember the exact time I did this..I'll always remember it).. I had to knock on my dad's bedroom door...to awaken him, to admit to him that his first-born son-the one whom he'd trusted to always be smartest-had really fucked up doing drugs. I was quickly dying..and he kept his cool...took me straight to the hospital..gave me absolutely no shit on the way about it... and he saved my life that morning in 1983. Proud to say that THAT WAS in fact the last act of physical harm ( in mass anyhow..) that I've done to myself and that all this stuff was a very long time ago now. But to you out there who are true adrenaline junkies..true thrill-seekers to the bone.. by all means... go sky-diving, BASE jumping, what have you. Only I ask of you,let me remain somewhat safer as merely a spectator. |

I've always fucked my body up a few times in my short life so far, but I've always bounced back. I'm more careful nowadays though because I decided I don't feel like dying at 18. |
