Quote news.com.au: In what could be a legal test case, 19-year-old Nathan Michael Wilkie faces a charge of offensive behaviour after police arrested him when he was listening to music by underground rapper Kid Selzy on his car stereo.Quote: The court was told the arresting officers found the music offensive and derogatory to females. Mr Wilkie allegedly told officers: "You're a joke, go do some real police work."The teenager is believed to be the first person charged under Australian law with offensive behaviour for listening to music. Through his lawyer, Amanda Chambers, Mr Wilkie plans to plead not guilty when his case continues on June 11. Mr Wilkie said he was thankful to have the support of Kid Selzy, who plans to attend in June. This sucks. Have these cops never listened to Billy Connolly? (I am sure there are more but he is the only one who comes to mind). Oh, and that black guy in the orange leather… ummm. Shit I’m bad with names. You know that guy who was in Beverly Hills Cops? I think it was him: his comedic style is often laced with fuck this and that for the laugh because the jokes are not that good. |

I may not agree to the kids taste in music, but who gives police the right to arrest someone because they find his listening to the music "offensive". I seriously hope that the arresting officers are suspended without pay pending investigation, and subsequently fired. BTW; another good artist to listen to as a protest action, is Blowfly. The guy is in his 60's and is one of the most perverted rappers I have ever heard. Great shit. |
