Argh, my internet is capped between 6pm and midnight due to downloading too much a few months ago, and it completely strangles youtube, so I can't watch youtube videos at this time (especially not 10 minute ones).

I'll give my input tomorrow when my internet frees up. Member Added Image

Damn that is awesome. I've heard of that before but I've never watched it all the way through. They should try it with a human. Not saying people haven't already tried I'm sure.

It's easy enough to make functional artificial organs, now we need to make a very low power and compact bio-computer that emulates the human brain and build a super computer based on these parts, I would think thats the key to true Artificial Intelligence?

Yeah, I think that's the general idea, lol Member Added Image

I just watched it (after pausing it for ages to let it load) and... wow! That's some serious shit right there. If that's what they were doing 70 years ago... I don't understand why we're not more advanced than we are right now. Sometimes I'm blown away by how advanced we are but after watching that I actually feel we haven't come very far. I guess its because we're so ethical and political now that they probably don't allow them to develop things like that but can you imagine the potential, the things that could be done with such technology!

Thanks for sharing Toasty!

I have to finish my report on artificial intelligence. You guys will love it.

It basically states that with a spacious enough database, enough sensors, and enough initial data I could actually replicate the human brain's logic with under 15 bucks.

Don't think I believe what I'm saying? Think about your decisions, and then google up these terms: AND Gate, NAND Gate, OR Gate, XOR Gate, NOR Gate, and NOT gate...Or simply read up on Logic Gates -- chips that enable two conditions to be evaluated.

Remember, the key is the database, the rest can run on the 15 bucks.

boolshit

Wouldnt the sensors cost a little more than 15?

I'm talking replicating the logic alone, not the memory, sensors, etc

Talking solely the brain's logic.

All that talk of logic gates reminds me of high school computing. I do believe you, but I think it would be extremely complex and take an extreme ammount of time.

^The hardest part would be data entry -- replicating a persons information they learned as a child.

It's actually kinda surprising that no-one has done it yet. You'd think at least microsoft would have done it to show off.

The human brain is run on electric impulses - just like a computer. On, off. 1, 0. If, else, end. AND, NAND, NOR, OR, XOR. I sometimes think "but it needs the soul!" But not really. It just needs to be programmed. Ahh, I dont know where I'm going with this. If you know what I mean, then you know. If you don't, I'm not going to be able to explain it tonight.

Just so happens to be the date I had my crippling accident!

Maybe they can make robocoopz and give me a fully functional robotic ankle? lol.

You totally have to make Robofluffy the movie!

Coopz, exactly. My thoughts on religion and death follow suit with shutting down a computer. If you spill water on the motherboard, same thing as death, we just don't have the control to "turn ourselves back on."

All the human brain is, is an analog computer. You can almost compare it to YN. Without the database, YN would be useless -- same for a human brain. Imagine being "reset" back to where you can't walk, can't talk, don't understand eating, can't comprehend words -- it's the database of our life's history that makes up our "soul", and since life has so many variables, each database may vary greatly.
