I really have to ask people when they're going to draw the line.

I can understand if HackThisSite ran a temporary thing where you had to use packet editors to adjust dates of cookies to login to their site, but how could a social networking site do this? Consider other social networking sites. Take Facebook and Myspace, neither of which would never allow this to go on more than an hour without firing somebody. I agree, they're larger companies, larger userbase, and larger finances. But consider the population, maybe two people (one of which is AE) could have figured out the issue on RE. Facebook and MySpace have a much larger userbase to figure out issues.

So AE posts the problem on RE, and two days later there's still no fix.

I recently got into weasels SQL databases, as well as several others by exploiting his servers. While I wasn't going to release the information, I plan on doing so when the login issue is resolved. There's major security problems on that site. AE and teh1337 were the only other two people I invited to view this exploit.

I seriously can't believe the amount of effort people are willing to go through to login to that site, it's a damn shame.

Hey,

I just stumbled onto this thread after following the link to the post titled "And you thought slavery was an open invitation..."

I don't know if you're talking about me or not, but I'd just like to say that the only reason I was so determined to log into RE (as you'll have seen by my thread there) was for the challenge of doing so. Obviously getting in was kinda pointless in itself, seeing as there was barely anyone there to talk to. I just wanted to see if I had the ability to do so, and became more determined to succeed each time I failed.

I'm not sure if it is sheer ignorance, or just carelessness that causes a person to continue contributing to a site that gives absolute zero back to its members. Either way, party on.

I stay for the people and that's it really. I agree with DLB, if everyone (well, the good ones at least) came over here I'd be more than happy to leave that floundering forum and it's many bugs and glitches behind.

I'm not saying YN is the magical solution either, I just don't know if RE members are exposed to anything better, really. AE is rarely on RE -- only when there's something to screw with does he show up. While I've personally invited a few people here from RE, I'm not sure the entire flock would be good.

While I suspect 95% of the spammers/trolls are RE members that are bored (I personally have around 13 accounts for this reason), it's the remaining 5% left that causes an issue.

I've recently repaired a slight bug on here that should attract more members, in theory, but the forum needs to remain active here to lure people into the site. Most people on RE are lured in by "eggs", but our articles section lacks.

I'd rather our article section lack, then the members here having to post "eggs" on how to login to my site, post polls, or any other basic feature. I'd also rather the forums here were slower than having most of the topics / posts be "Toasty sucks", "Another great bug from Toasty", "When is YN3 coming out?"

Maybe I treat YN with a little bit of pride, but I think with the efforts towards getting it right I've made, I think it deserves it. The members here are actually really interesting people, on RE my only interest is shooting down GMT on a regular basis.

My reply in here would just pretty much be a reiteration of the reply I've just posted in your RE topic, so I won't say much. I'll just say that with regards to your last paragraph, of course you deserve to take pride in your creation, no one could blame you. You've made a good job of it. Also, I agree that there are a lot of annoying trolls/dupes/immature people on RE that I wouldn't miss. But there are a good handful which I would, which is the only reason I'm still there.
