Toasty SysOp Level 40 Posts: 7,388 Submissions: 227 | ^It's entirely possible that I'm going to be doing ads again, but in a different format. Since ad companies generally make annoying ads, and I generally get only a penny on the dollar (which is never enough to even hit the withdrawl amount), I'm going to allow advertisers to place ads on the site through YN, not an external company. This will allow YN to keep the security it has always had, and with screening on ads, this will prevent annoying ads and javascript pop-ups, etc. They will simply be images with a no-follow link per the Google specification on purchased links. Beyond that, I'd like everybody to rate the importance of these systems to be fixed, if you have the time. The friends system, for example, has some groundwork laid out, but it's overall pointless. The ad-free system technically does work, but when I ditched AdBrite, I did some extra formatting removal in the code so everybody would see the donate link. I could get these implemented in the order of completion, but that doesn't get you guys what you're looking for out of the site. |

 teh1337 Member Level 10 Posts: 2,358 | Honestly, i'd fuck any friends system for now. You've done a fantastic job with the messaging system to where i can find anyone i want. If you arent making enough money via ads, make them more annoying. People deal with shitty site ads all the time. Just make people over level 5 or something get no ads. |

Toasty SysOp Level 40 Posts: 7,388 Submissions: 227 | ^This is pushing my memory some...I think I have it set to anybody over level 20 doesn't get ads...I don't recall though. I will have to change it anyway...I may go back to the older system of spending points to hide ads, we'll see. |
