 Toasty SysOp Level 40 Posts: 7,388 Submissions: 227  | All, Traditionally the points system works like this: If you vote something: Your member level * Rating = Points Rewarded to Poster Your member level = Points Rewarded to you for voting __ The system will continue on like this, with the exception of the following change: When users, submissions, or other rate-able portions of the site are rated 0*, the person who rated it zero will receive no points. Reason being: If something is so bad that it deserves 0*, then you won't mind not gaining points. This is in play for three reasons: - To reduce any pointless down-rating that may occur now or in the future. - To add weight to a 0* vote cast onto a page. - To help the "currency" of YouN00b flourish, and to prevent new members from being discouraged by a low vote cast by somebody to be an ass. A reminder: The red star = 0* The yellow stars are: 1, 2, 3, and 4 (respectively in natural English reading order) The green star = 5* One can also hover their cursor over the star as a reminder of the use of them. |
