GIMP Tutorial-

There are a ton of Photoshop tutorials on YouN00b.com, but only a handful of GIMP tutorials.
I hope to eventually even it out a touch.
(Thanks for a tonne of inspiration, Daddy Spook!)

First, select your image. Any image should work, but for it to look realistic, it should be a scene that can occur at night.

Now adjust the hue, saturation and lightness.
Click 'Color'>'Hue-Saturation'.
Adjust like so:
Hue: 81, Lightness: -100, Saturation: 22 *see note*

Ein Schrei wird zum Himmel fahren, Schneidet sich durch Engelsscharen. "Mein herz brennt, gib mir kraft." Der kalte Mond in voller Pracht hört die Schreie in der Nacht... und kein Engel steigt herab.

Oops. Posted prematurely.

Thanks for the fives. DaddySpook, I feel the same about Photoshop. I look at it and say 'Damn, that's a lot of buttons! What the hell do they all do??' But after looking at some random Photoshop screenshots on Google, it's not that different from GIMP. Similar complexity, different names, etc. One big difference is Photoshop seems contained in a single window. GIMP is in multiple windows. Each image window has it's own top options, and they all use a community toolbox window. Only real benefit that gives me is I can drag image windows onto other desktops. Less cluttered. Only problem with that is there's only one community toolbox. :/

I'm rambling, aren't I.

Thanks Coopz and teh1337. You should give GIMP a try. Follow a tutorial to learn.
