Alright guys, a little back story: (First off, I have never owned a Wii Console, nor have I ever had the desire to. I bought this in the YN auction, from Teh1337's deleted profile, but you should totally rate it up anyways because I'm hot.) i saw a tutorial on Bitgamer for it. So i modded it with relative ease, and its fucking AWESOME! When i get my power user title on Bitgamer, i will gladly send some invites to you guys. Alright, on with the guide. The things you will need are: A Wii console with a Wiimote An SD card (under 2gb, which go for about $7 dollars at Walmart) An internet connection Common sense This will work for any Wii system, as long as your firmware isn't over 4.1. The objectives are the following: 1. Upgrade your Wii to the latest 4.1 firmware. 2. Installs the BootMii, DVDX, and the Homebrew channel, allowing you to play homebrew games which are extremely entertaining and include pacman, tetris and even emulators to play Sega, Super nintendo entertainment system, games and more! 3. Installs an app called Trucha bug, which makes your homebrew operate correctly. 4. Installs custom IOS 202 (USB 2.0 support, which means you can put games on a usb flash drive) to your wii. 5. Allows your Wii to play Wii backups through a backup loader (Neogamma R7, which i will write a guide on if this one is accepted). 6. Play Wiiware & Virtual Console games off the sd card menu. ***IMPORTANT*** Please note that there is a POSSIBILITY of bricking your wii. Please, if you are nervous about bricking it, dont do it. If you are brave enough to attempt this, please follow the rest of the guide. ***IMPORTANT*** Alright, a download you will need to update to the latest firmware: LINK Extract the "update.zip" & put the files onto a SD card & insert the SD card into the Wii. Installing The Homebrew Channel & Bootmii Run the update by going to the Settings, Data Management, Channels, SD Card & choosing yes to load boot.dol/elf This runs the Hackmii Installer from which you should install the Homebrew Channel, DVDX [optional], & Bootmii as IOS & boot2 if possible. Updating your Wii to the correct firmware Run the WAD Manager 1.5 from The Homebrew Channel. When it opens choose IOS36. (it's probably already set to that) Press A to leave NAND emulator disabled. Press A to open from SD slot. Scroll down the list to find & install: -IOS70-64-v6687.wad -System Menu-NUS-v481.wad [NTSC-J = v480; PAL = v482] Then proceed to install the remaining 25 IOS files & Shopping Channel-NUS-v18.wad You can then erase everything from the update.zip & setup everything fro...
